Jacob's Omanyte Adventures - Prelude

by - PapziPet

Dr. Sodao was an expert in the field of researching extinct fossils of Pokemon, which were found all across Pokemon World. He led a group of 5 men in the pursuit of, one day, revitalizing the extinct Pokemon. After many years searching, Dr. Sodao, his team of excavators found the Dome and Helix Fossils. He brought them back to his laboratory in Cinnabar Island where he commenced the experiments. He discovered by traces off carbon 14 that the fossils were approximately 1000 years old. His studies continued by closely examining the genes of the fossils. His work was complete. He had discovered how to revive these fossils!

He placed each fossil in a chamber called "The XYZ Chamber"(1 & 2). This process was highly experimental and Dr. Sodao and his coworkers did not know what to expect. They added high amounts of electric energy to the chambers. Little did the team know this would be their last experiment. KABOOM! Inside the laboratory, there was an explosion everyone passed away with the exception of the Omanyte and Kabuto, which were alive and protected in their little chambers.

That day was Jacob and Terry's 11th birthday party, which was occurring just a few rooms down the hall. Jacob and Terry wished to become Pokemon trainers so much but their Mrs. Sodao wanted them to wait a year so that they would be stronger themselves and perhaps a bit wiser. Since Dr. Sodao was a registered Pokemon Teacher, so he had prepared Jacob and Terry's license and had their PokeBalls ready with a Magnemite for Jacob and Voltorb for Terry (Dr. Sodao was an electric Pokemon freak).

All their life Jacob and Terry suffered from the common disease known as sibling rivalry. They were looking forward for their first match but grandpa's death was what was in their minds at the time. Mr. Sodao asked his children for a favor.  He said, "Jacob and Terry, you know your grandfather worked hard in his lifetime researching extinct Pokemon. It is your job to continue on his research. Since I was not involved in the project I know little about it but I am sure grandpa would have wanted your help."

Mr. Sodao gave Jacob Omanyte, 4 PokeBalls (1 for Omanyte and 3 empties), a necklace with a piece of the rock Omanyte came from, 2 potions, and 1 antidote. He gave Terry Kabuto, 4 PokeBalls (1 for Kabuto and 3 empties), a necklace with a piece of the rock Kabuto came from, 2 potions, and 1 antidote. Finally he gave Jacob and Terry a new kind of pokedex which their grandfather created.

Mr. Sodao then said, "This is your grandfather's invention - The Pokedex Ring! It is an update from the original pokedex most trainers use and magnificent artificial intelligence capabilities. I ask you both to continue on your grandfather's legacy. Start your adventure with these singular Pokemon and discover the mystery of them so that you may share it with the world. Although I am not forcing you to stick together, I do recommend that you do meet up with each other every once and a while to share notes so that your knowledge may grow. So now head out to the shore and take the Lapras ferry service to Pallet Town where you may start your journey."  The brother and sister packed all items they thought may be necessary to bring and gave all their friends and family one last goodbye before they embarked on their journey.

They closed the door and headed towards the Lapras Ferry Terminal.
