Jacob's Omanyte Adventures - Chapter 1 Part 5

"A Bump on the Noggin"

The light had just begun to shine upon the Viridian Forest when Tim had stopped and though about the fact that Jacob was not in eyesight behind him. Tim asked all three Pokemon following him, "Where is Jacob!? What happened?! Wasn't he following you guys…?" The three Pokemon shook their heads. Lickitung's face then lit up! He whispered something in secret Pokemon language to Omanyte who began to gurgle in laughter. Tim looked perplexed at them as they were devising a plan. Lickitung walked in front of Nidoran who was similarly wondering what was going on. Omanyte sneaked up behind him. Lickitung pushed Nidoran's head down to the ground and Omanyte gave Nidoran a good push. Nidoran got the picture and began to sniff the ground in search of Jacob. Lickitung gave a bow to Tim and they started to laugh.

Nidoran continued to sniff the forest area with Tim, Omanyte, and Lickitung following closely behind. Nidoran made some sharp turn which Tim didn't remember making any of during his run earlier. Finally Nidoran's nose started to flare up more. He began to run towards the scent he smelled. Tim picked up his speed even though his legs were still tired from the initial run. Nidoran finally found Jacob's body.

Jacob was still knocked out from hitting his head on the metallic box after he tripped over a clump of rocks. However Nidoran realized this wasn't just a bunch rocks… it was a sleeping Pokemon! Mark buzzed in, "Hey! Is someone there?" Nidoran was frightened by the voice, which he forgot belonged to Mark. Nidoran ran back towards Tim when he came back into view. Tim saw Jacob's unconscious body and bent down towards it. Mark buzzed, "Tim its good to see you! Let Jacob rest for a moment. That Pokemon over there is a level 12 Sandshrew - He burrows deep underground in arid locations far from water and only emerges to hunt for food. It is rather strange to see Sandshrews in this part of the world. I guess he must've traveled far from home and fell asleep listening to the sounds Viridian Forest. In fact, Sandshrews usually stay up late and go to sleep just before dawn breaks."

Tim was getting a headache and shouted, "Information overload!!" Tim then said, "Well Mark what should I do?" Mark buzzed, "Since he is sleeping… I think you have a good chance to catch him, if you want to that is." Tim jumped up with a PokeBall in hand and smiled, "Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!" Tim crossed his fingers and threw a PokeBall at the sleeping Sandshrew. The ball shook quite a few times, but… Sandshrew was caught! Mark buzzed, "Congratulations Mr. Tim on catching your very first wild Pokemon!" Tim opened his PokeBall to meet his new Pokemon. He welcomed, "Hey wake up! Coochie coochie coo!" Sandshrew opened his eyes and was startled by his new master. Tim comforted him, "Its ok, don't worry." Tim wondered, "Mark can you please give me stats for my new Pokemon?" Mark buzzed, "Sure, right away, here is all the information I know about this Sandshrew:

Name - Sandshrew

Level - 12

Pokemon # - 27

Type - Ground

Height - 3'3"

Weight - 26 lbs.

Description - Burrows deep underground in arid locations far from water and only emerges to hunt for food.

Also for some reason this particular Pokemon seems to be extremely shy… maybe some social issue it had in its old home community.

Tim said, "Hmmm, that's strange. Anyway what happened to Jacob?" Mark replied, "Well it was dark and I suppose that Jacob didn't see the Sandshrew and tripped over him then bumped his head on that box over there." Tim glanced at the box and asked, "What is this weird thing? Mark buzzed, "I believe it is a technical machine. I think it may be #14 - Blizzard. I can only be sure after the machine is started up." Tim said as he put the machine in Jacob's backpack, " I think Jacob deserves it… he did bump his noggin on it."

Omanyte tried to squirt Jacob with some water but it didn't wake him up. Tim said, "Well I guess we need to drag him back to Viridian City to the hospital there." Tim commanded Lickitung to grab Jacob's left foot as Tim would take the right. Sandshrew burrowed underground under Jacob to prop him up so that it would be easier to carry him. Meanwhile Nidoran and Omanyte "pretended" to push Jacob ahead. They finally worked their way back to Viridian City.

Tim ordered the group to wait there as he would get a nurse and Chanseys to come help bring him to the hospital. He finally cam back a few minutes lately with a nurse and a group of four Chanseys who Carried him away on a stretcher. Tim explained the whole situation to the nurse so that she would be able to prepare a cure for Jacob. When they got to the hospital the nurse stuck a needle into Jacob and put "Noggin' Juice" into his blood. Jacob woke up startled and said, "What happened?" And everyone started to laugh.
